▇▇▇▇ Pharmaceuticals

once upon a time some scientists were pretty furry to be honest

this is a company that provides a huge variety of drugs, surgeries, and other treatments which let people change their bodies in an unprecedented way. I'm not gonna be coy about it I mean it lets them tf into anthros and shit. i mean there's also standard human varieties for like trans people and stuff but if you could pick between transitioning to girl or transitioning to catgirl? let's be realistic??

anyway. these things range from affordable to the average retail employee to absolute rich people shit and generally there are side effects to match. nothing devastating, they'd never make money that way, but for the most part the more affordable options will have withdrawal or require constant upkeep or otherwise need to be supplemented with more products. these were peddled through storefronts that dotted the streets of west veldt, though occasional copycats or generics could be found at regular pharmacies. but even the basic line had the appeal of the brand name

the use of these products and procedures was so widespread that it became unremarkable to see someone more than human out on the streets of west veldt. employers can't even feasibly enforce dress code rules :/ :\ sucks

the company has since quite noticeably exploded and died. see the Meltdown. a lot of higher management wasn't even on site for the worst of it but they've still vanished into thin air after the fact, leaving the company to fold like paper. suddenly all those little private pharmacies are empty, and now no one can get a hold of their supplements and meds in a consistent manner. those generics are working hard to fill in the empty spaces but there's a lot more distrust in the whole concept after all that happened. for those who are already deep into using the products, it's a scramble to find what's left in circulation or an adequate substitute - or for those who are truly desperate, they could try venturing out to the pharmaceutical headquarters in the swamps...
